Amazonas safari Brazil

Amazonas

The main part is located in Brazil. The Amazon, which has, among other things, the world’s largest tropical rainforest, is close to 6 million km2 in size and has been very sparsely populated.

The area is partly flat, partly hilly, and partly has more large-scale topography. The Andes in the west are young mountains of folded marine sediments and igneous rocks. The intense erosion there releases nutrients into sediment-rich areas

Amazonian indigenous people
The Amazonian indigenous population consists of several ethnic groups in the Amazon region. The basis for their livelihood is a combination of hunting, fishing and small-scale swede farming, which is characterized by special crop rotations and “generations” of swedes. The most important crop is cassava. Other important crops are bananas, beans, maize, taro, gourds and tobacco.

In agriculture, simple tools are used, usually a digging stick and a machete. Fishing, rather than hunting, is in many places the men’s most important occupation
